My Story...

deborah.jpeg

I have always had a passion for Travel & Expense technology. I have worked in many different industries including Pharma, Finance, Legal to name a few, either managing or, procuring travel technology services. I fell in love with the SAP Concur product specifically many years ago having used it as a client and when I was made redundant in 2013 from my job as a Procurement Manager in Pharma, I cheekily asked SAP Concur for a job and to my astonishment a role was created which I was then offered; Consulting Manager, managing a team of consultants delivering the Premium Edition to some very exciting Customers.  Fast forward 2 years, I saw a bit of a gap in the market when a client I was working with asked me if I knew of any Concur experts that could help them deliver Concur as a Project Lead that I could recommend to run the Concur project on their side.  I did not know of anyone with any all-round expertise that I could suggest. A seed was sown….. shortly after that, I decided that I wanted to help clients that were really struggling to find Concur expertise on their side of the fence. In February 2018 DACx Consulting Solutions was born. For the last 3+ years I have been really lucky to work with some amazing customers on some extremely challenging, but exciting & rewarding Travel & Expense deployments. As an implementation specialist I strive to deliver a first class service as a ‘standard’.

Why Use a Freelancer?

Here are some of the most common reasons that customers seek to use a Freelancer

Risk Reduction

Because freelancers are not employees, employers’ risk is reduced. Freelancers have no right to collect unemployment insurance, almost never have a right to workers’ compensation benefits, nor do they generally have the right to sue for harassment or discrimination. If they’re not working out, they’re also easier to terminate and replace. This is particularly helpful in countries with laws that create exceptions to employment-at-will.

Cost

Even at a higher hourly rate, expect to save around 20-30% annually with a freelancer when you factor in not having to pay for benefits, like health insurance and retirement, as well as other benefits such as dental, healthcare holidays & sick pay. Freelancers usually have their own office set up so you also reduce costs if your worker is remote, you also reduce the need for office space and lower your office supply costs.

Resources

Most organisations don’t have the correct level of expertise in their Business or, they don’t have the approved FTE headcount budget for the project. Using a Freelancer fills a “skills” gap more immediately and without any real risk. With the freelancer approach, the customer gets the flexibility of having someone willing to work across multiple time zones which can be cumbersome for a project team member working normal business hours.  Using a freelancer that has a specific set of skills ensures a successful deployment; the freelancer approach will ensure an end-to-end delivery from inception to business-as usual transition. As a freelancer, I am available at very short notice.

Quality

I manage my own business clients and I do thrive on ‘word of mouth’ and repeat customers. I make it my absolute priority to create long lasting relationships where I can enhance the experience for the customer and hopefully teach them about the Concur products along the way. Remember, I leave you after transition but someone in the Business has to know how to manage the relationship both with the Vendor and internal stakeholders. There will need to be a transformation support model in place internally, I will also help the customer set that up and ensure they have the right resources and skills in place to maintain the eco-system for the term of their contract with their Vendor.
